Fat Glenn’s Fish operates from a small purpose-built aquaculture facility comprising 70 tanks of various sizes. These tanks are used to house broodstock, growing out of the fry and holding of fish ready for sale. All fish are fed on high quality foods to maximise their health and appearance.
Presently we are breeding around 40 species including cichlids from Lake Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria from the Rift Valley of Africa plus varieties of American Cichlids and Catfish. We have broodstock from a further 25 species which are still reaching maturity. By breeding fish locally some of the costs incurred when bringing fish into Tasmania are avoided which helps us to set very competitive prices.
We are also broadening our network of suppliers which is expanding our range of Angelfish and Rainbows, it also allows us to source some of the fish you might be chasing up but can’t find at this time.
Fat Glenn’s Fish is a registered business with ABN. We are also registered with the Inland Fisheries Service of Tasmania as a Fish Dealer and we hold a Fish Farm Licence, both are legal requirements in this state for breeding and selling of fish.
